Marjorie was born in 1930 in Reno, Nevada. Fitzgibbon has been commissioned for several significant public and private sculptures including; twelve bronze heads of living Irish artists housed in the library of the Royal Dublin Society, a bronze bust of James Joyce located in St. Stephen's Green and a bronze statue of James Joyce at North Earl Street, Dublin. In the 1970's, after the completion of 'Three Muses' fountain in Stonehill College, Massachusetts, she was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in Fine Arts. Fitzgibbon draws inspiration from her sitter's inner self. She has an innate ability to capture the emotional essence of a subject.
